Election officials finally finished counting after 20 days. Referendum 71 which expands domestic partnerships of gay couples was approved by 53.15% of voters.

30 days after that, the WA AG’s response is due, and then 10 or more days after that, the briefs get discussed at conference and either the case will be heard or the stay evaporates and the names will be released.

As of 11/6, the vote count is:

Approved: 804,420 – 52.13 %
Rejected: 738,638 – 47.87 %

It’s over. We won.

Some measly DP’s still have 48% of residents against it.

That’s what’s significant; that even in screwing us over with separate treatmne,t so much straight pondscum would rather we don’t receive crap at all.

Gay people need to get out of their little gay enclaves and take a good look at the straight supremacy that permeates– and will continue to do so for decades, if not a century– American culture.

The margin between Yes and No is only 54,856 votes, with over 200,000 votes yet to be counted.

The 2000 presidential election was decided by 537 votes, less than 1% of the margin on this issue.
