		<description>Pender, I&#039;ll take a lot more Rell&#039;s in the GOP than what we normally see.  At least then we&#039;d see some movement on more issues than just SSM.  Heck, DPs would be a nice first step that I believe will lead to SSM as it did in Vermont.</description>

		<description>OK, let&#039;s not go overboard here; Rell&#039;s position has always been against marriage equality, and she maintained that position even as she refused to push for a constitutional amendment to overturn the CT supreme court&#039;s decision -- instead, the reason for her refusal was that such an amendment would be too difficult to pass.

So she certainly could have been worse, but I wouldn&#039;t call her a &quot;shining star of decency&quot; by any means, particularly given how liberal Connecticut is.</description>
