I don’t think LaBarbera is a fool here. That implies he is just stupidly taking the “threat” seriously. He doesn’t. In fact I doubt he actually reported it. This is PR and it’s a lie. He knows he is lying but he has to stir up his funders and fake “threats” is the way to get the money flowing. It is greed combined with political opportunism but not foolishness.

As an exChristian (ex seminarian) watching these religious based groups has convinced me that they are fundamentally immoral and dishonest. There is nothing they wouldn’t lie about to achieve their goals. And since they discovered that lies work with the public (just ask Obama) they will continue to lie.

You would expect any competent legal advisor to know the diffeence between the FBI and the CIA, as pointed out above. So no surprise to find J Matt ‘supersize-me’ Barber can’t.

LaBarbera is making himself look more ridiculous all the time. The comparison with the airbase shootings last week must actually be a huge insult to the bereaved families.

That carnage was created by someone who, just like LaBarbera, was the most godly person imaginable.

The FBI investigates ordinary (but cross-state) criminals. The CIA investigates threats to the state, such as terrorism.

Well, what state was it a few years ago, Alabama or Mississippi, whose state homeland security department labelled gay groups as ones to watch out for as home-grown terrorists. He might find a favorable ear in the FBI. If this isn’t anything more than a publicity stunt for his money-grubbing newsletters.

All I can say is there may be a method to the madness. I wouldn’t be surprised if LaBarbera and company tried to use those comments in other fights against pro-lgbt legislation.
