Ephilei,

I too was under the impression that using the word "transgender" as a noun was acceptable. Is there an alternate word that is a noun? Or is there inconsistency in the usage?

Jim,

Minor note: Please avoid using "transgender" as a noun. It's an adjective only and using it as a noun makes you sound uninformed or having bad English. Like "the law protects homosexualities." Good words are "transgender people" as you used in the body, "transpeople," "trans folk" etc.

Thanks for the coverage nonetheless.

Nice of the protester to include the "T" in there. Seriously, though, I know transgendered people are sometimes overlooked in anti-discriminatory legislation so this is a wonderful thing.
