I think that people are lying to these pollsters and just don’t want to admit that they hold bias against gay people.

Then when it comes time to actually vote in favor of gay rights, they vote against them because no one else will know.

Yeah, that’s just about exactly what the polls in California and Maine said right before each of them voted to rescind their marriage equality laws.
