Considering the current state of the economy, I am thankful to be employed. My partner, who is self-employed, has seen a significant decrease in his income this year, so I am also thankful to have a home. I am thankful for my family, though they live far away. And, of course, I am thankful for my partner (though I wish the law would allow me to call him "husband"). There is not much to be thankful for politically, but I have hope for the future.

And i am grateful for my family, both my family of Choice and my blood Family. My father received me with open arms when i came out to him 8 years ago and I continue to receive encouraging messages from family members that find out here and there what has been a open secret all along.

I am grateful for my BF, a saint as far as i am concerned. I put him through hell and he is still here. I do not deserve him (Hands off bitch3s).

I am grateful for my friends too. I don't have a lot of people in the inner circle, but their generosity these months that I have been unemployed has been amazing.

I am eternally greatful, as a gay man, for my family of choice, and for my ability to define those people, both genuine family and fenuine friends, whom I include in that family of choice -- those people who I love, cherish, honor, respect and hold dear and true to my heart every minute of every day of every year.
