But why does it offend you if a cure for homosexuality were found? Why does it offend you if sex changes were to disappear & a cure for GID were found? You keep saying happiness this but how can some1 be unhappy if something no longer existed ? Again, many people wouldn’t care 1 way or the other if lefthandedness were cured, but why the offense over whether a cure for homosexuality & GID are found? I don’t understand the controversy.

Similarly many Christians say christianity doesn’t prohibit loving gay relationships. That doesn’t change the fact that many, if not most Christians and hindus say their religion is against it.

You keep saying that but you never state any rational reason why there is something wrong with same sex sex. That’s where you’re not credible when you claim it isn’t motivated by religon – you claim to have other reasons but you find them so feeble (or none-existant) that you’re not willing to say what they are.

Perhaps I’m wrong if indeed Hinduism does prohibit homosexuality as the Wikipedia article states & will have to look into this. I’m not an expert,(not every1 fully understands their religious faith) but if Hinduism really does forbid homosexuality as the article says, then I’ll have to raise that with Hindus who’ve told me that Hinduism doesn’t forbid it. All this time, I’ve justified my position against homosexuality for reasons unrelated to Hinduism, as I’ve believed that it doesn’t forbid it.

Hinduism does justify vegetarianism. I’ve been a vegetarian for years (would never be a vegan) but I’ve been a vegetarian for reasons unrelated to Hinduism, though I know Hindus who do use Hinduism to justify their position.

It was only recently in India that gayness was decriminalized. Like most other religions Hindus are predominantly anti-gay.

Zeke Krahlin, you haven’t written anything that I haven’t already considered. No, homosexuality is not a disease as it was lifted by the APA in 1973. But even so, I still believe that if science finds the cure for homosexuality, then I support such a cure.

Science & medicine often gets involved in things you may not agree with. A common synonym I hear is why not then cure lefthandedness. Lefthandedness is also not a disease which I don’t think needs to be cured, but most people incl. myself wouldn’t care if lefthandedness were cured though I would say ‘well what’s the need for a cure ?’, yet it doesn’t raise as much controversy. Cloning is another eg. Sure I think cloning is useless waste of science, but again not so controversial.

However, what I don’t understand is why people get offended by the idea if they eventually discover the cure for homosexuality? Your thoughts are again welcome, but you haven’t said anything that I haven’t already considered.

Wouldn’t it be interesting to know how much money the “Ethics Minister” has hidden in Swiss accounts. Could it possibly be somewhere around $20 million?
