It is ironic that a Catholic writer would defend a fornicating heretic and blasphemer, but I guess the political attacks on LGBT Americans are more important than the petty religious differences among various Christian sects.

It’s sad to read your article.

By it’s own choice, the Church is absent in the lives of these two lesbians, withholding the kind of spiritual support and guidance that would value relationships over dissolution.

Yet, the Church NOW wants to be involved, against even the courts. How odd.

Open up your heart. Even though this is a tragic case, perhaps you can stop treating it as a exemplar of all that is wrong with gay couples. Truly, their problems are little different than non-gay couples. Open your heart, if you have ears to hear, because gay marriage is good for all marriage and divorce is painful for everyone. Stop being afraid of the “Cultural Revolution” wholesale and start understanding how much better and more obvious it would be if you were to embrace loving, committed relationships, than to so open scorn them.

If you cannot open your heart, then stand behind us, because the unexamined malice in your heart is showing. Truly, if society’s worst problem is two parents out of millions who care about their daughter, it is because your blindness has put priorities upside down. For one thing, how many heterosexual parents have physically destroyed their unwanted children, yet here you identify gays as the judicial threat to our national future. Please meditate on that. I’m sure that a right spirit will move you that that cannot be correct.

Perhaps your stipulation that “The record shows that Isabella is an ‘A’ student in school, a happy, well adjusted and loving child”, might be able to guide you farther. This was achieved while Isabella had but one parent, yes? Perhaps God’s wisdom is greater than your understanding, your doctrine? Two are better than one, but look what one alone has achieved.

And what if any student were gay or lesbian? Your Church would counsel them a life of celibacy/denial. Is it any wonder that even a non-involved parent would shudder at that unnatural teaching, in a society that has thriving, creative, and fully-functioning gay people and couples all around?

Last, you shouldn’t give yourself a pass on the fundamental injustice you appear to want to set-up, an injustice in which some couples can use fertility technology, yet others cannot.

Just how much is your bride price?
Have you already been promised to another?
Are you here only to get your Mrs degree?
When you do get married, will you have as many kids your husband decrees as is his right?

*That’s* traditional marriage, my dears!
