I found their discussion about “pricipled opposition” helpful and extrememly timely.

Tonight, my church’s bible study’s topic is “Is the Church homophobic?”

I see this as an opportunity to open up discussion & address the very roots of prejudice against gays- and the reaction will be mixed.

However, the term “homophobic” gives me pause. It feels like saying “you are homophobic” will be like walking in there and throwing a bucket of kerosene on a bed of coals.

Not a great way to frame the discussion facilitate open-minded reflection.

I think it’s going to be extrememly important to make the distinction between bigotry and prejudice. Otherwise, walls will go up (no one likes to think of themselves as a bigot).

Don’t know if that’s what you were referring to, but I was grateful for that “disentangling.” Helped me clear a few things up.

You guys kept saying Starr Jones when you meant Sherri Shepard. :) I’m glad you finally addressed the question of how SCOTUS might eventually rule on this, though a little frustrated that none of you will acknowledge the very obvious fact that the vote will be 5-4 upholding Prop 8. I’m not sure how anyone can resonamly come to any other conclusion. This is a very partisain court, and all the talk of suspect class this, and equal protection that is wholly and completely irrelevant. The Court will rule on party lines no matter what evidence is presented, just as they always do with controversial issues. It’s bizarre to me that anyone could believe otherwise. They even helpfully made it even more clear by siding with the defendants(5-4, of course) with their absurd notion that “irreparable harm” will come to those testifying against gay people. Are we to believe that they think gays are so insidious and evil that they will harm people who testify against them, but hey, let’s let them get married anyway? Ridiculous. We all know where this is going. Why don’t Olsen and Boises?

Is this question about disentangling “principled opposition” still worth asking? And haven’t the experts at the Olsen/Boise trial convinced an increasing number that the answer was, is, and is always no?

Sure, I can go and hunt it down in some hidden, temporary internet files folders.

But, why put me, the listener, through such acrobatics?!

Why can’t BTB just throw up a link to the raw MP3 file that I can Right Click, Save As… and then copy it to my MP3 player?

You can play it on the web page then goto your Temporary Internet Files & folders.
Wiht most the folders it’s in it’s hidden.
You need to unhide the folders then look in it for it, With this podcast its name is BTBPODCAST12210(1).mp3.

Just copy and past to the folder you like.

Yes I would appreciate an RSS feed of the podcasts, so then I can subscribe to it with Zune software as opposed to iTunes (and others using their own preferred software). I don’t like iTunes and I have a Zune, not an iPod.

Is there a way to download your podcast without installing itunes software on my PC?

I have an mp3 player, not ipod, and would love to listen to your podcast on it, but I do not wish to install the intrusive and resource hungry itunes software.
