This news reminds me of a map I saw a few days ago.

It showed all the countries of the world and which provided some form of nationalised health care and which did not. The USA and some African countries stood out as the only ones not offering any form of national healthcare.

Eventually I think that we will see a map of all the nations that offer national marriage equality and the USA and some select African countries will be the only ones not offering marriage equality to it's own citizens.

How very sad, for the USA.

Cyprus is the main destination where hetero secular Jews get married and this attempt is all about grabbing those gay Israelis going to Spain to get married.

As for the the Greek Orthodox Church, I'm not sure they still have that much power nowadays, especially in Greece. You have to consider the age demographics as well.

I'm going to Cyprus in May. It should be interesting.

i'm wondering if they are trying to grab tourist dollars from the parts of europe that do have marriage. It is relatively cheap in Cyprus, so i'm told.

I doubt it, the Greek Orthodox Church has the country grabbed by the crotch. The only difference between it and the Vatican is that they speak Greek instead of Latin.

As for Israel, it's time for that country to become completely secular and flip it to the frummies.
