You know if we start giving them ex-gays the same rights and benefits that we all enjoy it’s just going to lead to a slippery slope. Next ex-gays will want to be marrying their dogs or family members or multiple people. I’m sorry but that’s not what our founding fathers had envisioned.

To me this is just a consequence of their inability to understand what gays are fighting for. They think we are seeking equality in order to proselytize and impose on others, not merely for protection of our interests from those who would do us harm. So ex-gays, whose only interest actually IS “promoting their behavior” are copying our modus operandi for that goal.

They’re protected if they’re “straight”, I’m presuming. They’re protected if they’re gay. Clearly they want something else.

Say, to be allowed to try and convert gay co-workers?

Notice how the group bringing this up is PARENTS and FRIENDS rather than Ex-gays themselves. Just more evidence for the bonfire that the entire “EX-gay” ministry is merely a thin cover for the political motivations of the ANTI-gay ministries.

They can’t even bring themselves to care enough to pretend this is something “ex-gays” want.

if being gay was so awful they had to leave….why the hell aren’t they just happy heterosexuals, cruising through life with all that “freedom” that they were promised in the no-mo-homo brochure?

Seems to me that they’re just as “trapped” in homosexuality as they supposedly were before, only this way they’re trapped in obsessing over how gay they aren’t anymore.

I quit drinking. I’m a ex-lush. It never comes up. Cause I don’t really bring it up. In fact, the only time it ever comes up is when I bring it up, usually in this sort of context.

Seems to me they won’t have truly left homosexuality until they day they stop obsessing over it.

The Disney corporation does not allow discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or religious affiliation.
Objectively speaking, aren’t the Ex-gays just a group of people defined by their orientation and religious beliefs? Ie. people who are trying to “pray away the gay”? That would seem to be covered by both categories.

On the other hand, if one accepts their premises rather than objective standards, then giving them special protections would be like giving special protections to former drug addicts or former child molesters. They can’t have it both ways.

I somehow have a feeling they’re not genuinely surprised by this decision. It just gives them fuel to talk about how they are being “discriminated” against.
