What an absolute gem! I’d love to find something as wacky, wrong and weird as that in a second hand bookshop.

It’s available through Amazon, of course, but for $20 bucks. I reckon I’ll just savour the waft of manure emanating from the cover image until I happen upon that magic bookshop of inappropriate delights.

And stepping beyond the creep factor, how may people in 1982 presumably identified with whatever this rural vignette was supposed be conveying about—guessing here—manhood?

If only I had been raised by Charles Ingalls I’d be so butch now.

You must enlarge that photo to discover WHY THE HELL it is really really disturbing. That IS a creepy bookcover…my grandmother would say, “gads. what is going on here?”

This is territory I don’t even want to wade in. Rekers is a tool or a work in progress. Freud would have a hey day.
