Why is Florida, or any State, interested in finding the Truth ultimately wanting the best outcome for children, paying or needing to pay $120,000 for “testimony”?

Rediculous!

Shows the lengths that Homophobes will go to in order to opress US Citizens who have jumped all of the hurdles in order to care for homeless children.

THIS is the story that is not being told: What should Florida do NOW in light of this crap-for-testimony?

Dr. Reker’s home page refers to stories about himself as “misleading” “innuendo” “false impressions” “incorrectly implying…” and “slanderous” all in the first three lines. Talk about going overboard.

Wow, a state agency paid this guy $120,000 (!!!) to testify at a trial on gay adoption?! If that’s true, that doesn’t seem right. Paying someone to testify on your behalf…and accepting such an outrageous payoff to do “the Lord’s work?”

1) Florida’s attorney general ought to be impeached. Blowing the state’s money on utter bullshit testimony for a hate trial is a pretty poor way to conduct the business of the gov’t in a wounded economy (or at any other time).

2) I’ve heard of “gay for pay,” but I’m surprised that we don’t hear “ex-gay for pay” as often…

You know? We also need to understand that what this kid is doing is not only courageous but dangerous as well. he will forever be known as the rent boy, this will follow him everywhere he goes, to any job and anything he does.

Not only that, but this could potentially alienate him from his family and friends. Sex workers, both straight and gay, are at the bottom of the respect pole. We live in a society where it is OK to be gay, trans, by and many other things (mostly), but being a sex worker is still the bottom of the bottom and sex workers are still seen as less than addicts; people who can not control their impulses and are always willing to give it to anyone.

Yes, it is great that he is exposing the hypocrisy of this guy, but what are we doing to make sure he comes out of this mess stronger and not carrying any scars?

Could AC360 be backing off on their exclusive because Lucien apparently referred to Anderson Cooper as "the gay reporter on TV?". I respect Cooper's decision to keep his private life private, but it is ironic for his show to interview someone for the purpose of exposing another person's private life. I know, I know. It's about the hypocrisy, but it still seems duplicitous of Cooper ('I'll publicize others' lives, but don't talk about mine.'). Any ways, it will be interesting to see how AC360 edits Lucien's interview. Too bad it's not live.
