I had the previlege of speaking with the Bishop on his visit to Sacramento. As you, I found him to be a fascinating, charming and delightful man. He is more than aware of the fact his country is on a downhill slide to becoming a theocracy. Dominionists from all over the world are working overtime in Uganda and other African countries to adopt Biblical Law as the law of the land.

We as a glbt community here in the US need to thank the Bishop for his courage and support of our brothers and sisters in Unganda.

Bishop Christopher brings to mind the imagery of a candle, and how this imagery was used in Scripture.

Gay Ugandans are living in a vast spiritual darkness, unanimously condemned by culture and religion and government and society, often in despair, but Bishop Christopher is a light. Perhaps only one candle. But a candle can be seen for a long ways in a very dark night and can be a beacon to guide one to safety.

And a candle can ignite a fire, spread the warmth, increase the light.

Surely, Bishop Christopher is a light unto the world. I pray for his continued strength to shine.
