Ben Nelson announced that he would vote for this "possible repeal" legislation. So, that makes 15 and it will be in the Defense Authorization Bill coming out of the Senate Defense Committee. It would take 60 votes to remove it from the bill. It would appear that baring a catastrophe, this thing is going to pass.

I just can't wait for the day when there are 2 people left in the "Uhmercan Milatery" because everyone else has been booted out for being gay or sympathetic to their gay comrades. Just what McCarthy was working for in the 1950s!

This is a good compromise. When the president and the SECDEF want equal treatment for gays in the military, giving the power back to them is a good idea.

How many more incremental 'compromises', must anyone put up with?!
DADT was another, unworkable compromise in place for nearly two decades.

OTHER military forces in the coalition lifted THEIR bans, years ago.
This foot dragging is inexcusable. Especially while careers are unnecessarily lost, and the military is further compromised for lack of skilled and committed personnel.

The cowardice...and danger that entails is shameful and embarrassing.
