Here's Ron Paul on why he voted for repeal..

Constituents changed my mind on 'don't ask, don't tell'

"I have received several calls and visits from constituents who, in spite of the heavy investment in their training, have been forced out of the military simply because they were discovered to be homosexual," Paul said Friday. "To me, this seems like an awful waste. Personal behavior that is disruptive should be subject to military discipline regardless of whether the individual is heterosexual or homosexual. But to discharge an otherwise well-trained, professional, and highly skilled member of the military for these reasons is unfortunate and makes no financial sense."

Fancy that! A congressman that actually listens to his constituents and to reason.

Ron Paul voted for it and 26 democrats voted no? I think it is time we start calling our friends who are in their districts, maybe change our status on FB, Yahoo, My Space and the rest. We need to make sure our friends know this

It should be noted that this is the same Charles Djou who was sworn in just the other day.

The Advocate ran a headline "Hawaii elects anti-gay congressman", even though he had campaigned against DADT. I was curious how he would vote.

We covered his election here

That's interesting that Ron Paul voted for repeal considering he called it a "decent policy" back in 2007. Perhaps the compromise is what brought him over.

Wonder what his son Rand thinks of it. They actually differ in a lot of ways.

More importantly, who were the 26 Democrats who voted against the DADT repeal? I want to know who is fighting against me, yet asking for my dollars & support.

Ill look for that when Im back home. I enthusiastically supported Ron Paul in 2008, and not at all surprised by his vote. I dont know what he personally believes, but hes a strict constitutionalist, which for him always comes first. Im proud, but not surprised, to see his name.

I'm actually surprised more Republicans didn't support the repeal. I'm also surprised that Ron Paul did. Didn't he openly support DADT when he was running for president?

This vote gives another opportunity to see who our allies are in the fight for full LGBT* rights. Readers should make the effort to discover how their representative voted.
