At least a last-minute agreement was reached to continue the Constituent Assembly. A scenario that might be less desirable would involve a discontinuation of the assembly. The current constitution writing process -- while currently in a stressful stalemate, of sorts -- would dissolve entirely and a less-than supportive Nepalese sociopolitical movement could take over before the next Constituent Assembly would be created, thereby eliminating any hope for establishing same-sex marriage in Nepal.
