Let's not forget that the SLC ordinance went *NOWHERE* until the Lords on the hill (aka the Mormon patriarchal royalty) gave their blessing!

I don't personally care how many Mormon Cities give housing rights to Gays after the intentionally damaging Proposition 8. canpaign, which equates to slapping my mother in the face.

Until they reverse course on fighting my marriage, they can all go to Hell, directly to Hell, and please don't tell me that not ALL Mormons are against Gay Marriage. If they contribute to the LDS Church, they provided the funding, and they are the enemy, end of story.

When the cities of Provo/Orem (home to BYU and UVU and the bastian of conservative Mormons) enact a non-discrimination policy, THEN I think we can safely say it's becoming a part of Mormon values.

But, this is good news. The more cities that get these policies enacted, the harder it will be for the 2011 State Legislature to formulate a counter-ordinance without looking spiteful and just plain homo-phobic.

Maybe it was good the Mos and the Homos had a truce in the last legislature session.

It does appear that opposition to employment and housing discrimination against LGBT people may be becoming part of Mormon values.

Allow me to be more cynical than that. This is likely part of a concentrated effort to undo the damage of the backlash that they had (and still have) after the passage of Proposition 8. Basically, my impression is that they think that as long as we get what they see as small victories, we are not going to mind when they get the "big" ones.

Watch for the next big battle and when they get hatred from us, they will use these votes as "proof" that they do not oppose us. They will have the balls of saying: See? we didn't opose these, why are you saying we hate you? We just feel strongly about marriage, why are you all upset with us?

I will bet my b@lls on it.
