You know, I *would* get upset about the double standard that posts like this are intended to point out (dysfunction in a homosexual person always imputed to their homosexuality, dysfunction in a heterosexual person never imputed to their heterosexuality) but honestly, I’m too depressed and disturbed by the particulars of the case. What a horrible and sad thing. Sad in all meanings of the word.

Yes, Bill…it’s appropriate. It would have been bad enough had this been a 14 year old not related to her. Look how many women who are middle school teachers do this. It’s appalling how common it is, it’s just that no one takes it as seriously as they should.

This woman was HIS MOTHER. And she KNEW she was his mother. That’s a whole other level of abuse of a child.

9-30 years for a single sexual misconduct incident?!? That is ludicrous. It costs $40,000 – $50,000 per year to keep someone in jail. This woman realizes she screwed up; she should be given a combination of psychiatric treatment, restraining order, home-arrest, etc.
