If any LGBTQ&Q Georgians are not aware of it there is a voting guide at www.georgiaequality.org. Some of these candidates may not be seen on local or national news.

A: I think that for a child to be in a household — in a family in a household with a situation where the parents are not married, as in one man and one woman, is not the best household for a child.

Because adoptions by gays rip children from the loving arms of their middle-class, fundamentalist Christian, white, married, heterosexual family! Everybody knows that! When you come out, you get a toaster and a future option on a class-A baby. Whereas if you're heterosexual, all you get is useless sh*t like civil rights. Hah! Straights should have it so good.

@Justsearching:

People like you need to get your head out of your ass. Bold simple convictions that relay only a small margin of their actual beliefs are what are bringing American politics (and American intelligence) to the forefront of international concern.

What a rude reporter. Asking her that question asking about single parenting vs. gay parenting. The voters in Georgia need a leader with bold simple convictions, none of this fancy shmancy nuanced reasoned stuff.

Tim - the original site for the interview is actually 11alive.com, the Atlanta NBC affiliate. Karen Handel and her comments are getting quite a bit of coverage here.

They should've asked her if she also supports the statement in the bible that says that women should be subservient to men in marriage, should not seek to teach men and should submit themselves to their husbands.

AMPGlass said:

How do people get to such high positions without actually thinking?

It's been my experience that the people who do think never attain high positions. Ethics and Morality usually curb the willingness to sell out that's required to attain those high positions.

Why would anyone vote for a candidate that does not have their people’s best interests in mind?

She has her voters interests in mind. They are anti-gay bigots, too.
