You can only speak for yourself Timothy – there are certainly some christians here who are going to try to convert atheists to their religion.

What I believe Timothy was getting to was that the efforts at conversion are not going to take place in this forum. Certainly, elsewhere. But not here. And vice versa.

Please review our comments policy. This site is not a forum for discussing the merits or demerits of particular faiths, faith or the lack thereof. We do however critique those who work against LGBT equality (and even safety), and when they use their faith as an excuse, we certainly call them out on it. But we aren’t here to persuade or dissuade people from or toward faith or any particular faith. Those topics are off-topic.

So yes, you are being rude. Persistent rudeness will result in moderation.

Who said I was an atheist? Being irreligious doesn’t make you an atheist. It just means that you can see a religion for what it is: a fairy tale. I’m still not seeing you use your translation skills to refute what I’m saying. I’m actually quite informed on Bible verses, and whether the translation to English is right or not is irrelevant. People will still read it and believe it, and that’s what matters.

I know that you really really want to think that you know what the bible says and that, conveniently, it says all the horrible fairy tale stuff that you want it to say so that you have a good excuse to hate it.

But I’ll make you a deal: No one here will try to convert you to any religion and you will stop trying to convert others here to atheism. It’s rude, boorish behavior.
