I appreciate the first hand info. I think your count of 70 is probably about right. It’s not very likely that many people showed up for the tail end of the rather short rally.

It’s sad that Brian Brown lied and said that there were 120. Is his honesty so cheap that he’d throw it away in exchange for reporting 50 extra people?

The photo above was taken when the event was just starting. However, more people gathered to listen as the rally progressed.

The crowd received the speeches with smiles, cheers and applause in spite of the July noon heat. The friendly, helpful NOM staff offered bottles of cold water.

Toward the middle of the rally, I lost count after 70 persons. This included a group of about 15 teenage students wearing “Don’t Mess With Marriage” t-shirts.

Unfortunately, I can’t provide an estimate on how many others eventually showed up. I had to leave to catch a train before it ended.

Considering that the rally was at the NJ state capitol building near the center of town from 12 PM to 1 PM, they should have been able to attract more people than that who were just gawking while outside on a nice day during their lunch hour. That rally must have been really boring.

What do you bet Brian Brown claims “over 200″?

I’ve been spending too much time on Birfer/anti-Birfer sites these days so to me, <40 = 200 is way low. He needs some actual birfer logic to spin 10 or less (like 0) into several million.

Happy to see a non-aggressive side to the counter protest today, but I'm supportive of the occasional in-your-face style like in Providence. These are our lives we're defending– I think we can act like it from time to time.

Keep NOM on their toes and feeling anxious.
