Marcus,

I've gone over the interview and the quotes from Maggie and Louis. I've corrected my blog post to reflect correct facts:

Maggie didn't deny knowing Louis. She misheard the person asking her the question and then subsequently stated there was no affiliation between NOM and Protect Marriage: One Man, One Woman (to which Louis moderates).

This has since been proven false after Louis confirmed a summer partnership for the purpose of the tour.

Marcus,

It's hard to say. I'll dig up the video. It's on prop 8 trial tracker. She either outright denied knowing him or didn't hear the question completely.

It was right around the "I'm not Brian's keeper" comment.

So, RJ, did Maggie really deny knowing Louis? Do you have a link? That would be absolutely precious...

If anyone missed the controversial blog post that more or less sparked his going private, I captured it knowing that it wouldn't be kept around by NOM and Louis for that long:

http://amiworking.wordpress.com/2010/07/24/louis-marinelli-unknown-to-dear-maggie-goes-of-the-deep-end/

Real quotes lifted off his blog with a little bit of honest analysis.

If it is true that Marinelli is being reined in by the higher powers at NOM, perhaps it's due to his PR faux pas in devoting a blog post to accusing some counter-protesters of bringing their dogs for the purpose of intimidating and threatening the NOMsters.

Dogs appear in so many print ads and TV commercials for a very good reason. There is a unique bond between humans and dogs, and that is probably one of the few areas of common ground that we share with our rabid anti-gay adversaries. Just observe the instinctive ways that humans and dogs commonly respond to each other. It's evolution at work, I think.

So it might be helpful for our people to take more friendly dogs to the tour venues. Dogs can be great conversation starters.

Although we don't have a dog, I like to fuss with our neighbor's dogs. The dogs like it, and their owners seem to like it. Actually, it's the dogs who appear most eager for the attention, and then I pretend that I'm just accommodating the dogs.

When you write negatively about dogs, you do it at your own peril. And that may be part of reason for Marinelli being put on a short leash.

You know what? We should all open email accounts so we can ask to be approved and continue posting all the challenges. I have a feeling that he will take that blog down in no time once he discovers that people are still filtering in and he can not stop them.

Got one last dig in this morning before it went private. Maybe Maggie finally read his jab at the adoptive couple after all and said, "Hey, Mr. Bus Driver, keep your inarticulate hate private and let us pros do the real spin."

That's such wishful thinking...how naive of me.

Isn't "invitation only" and "blog" a contradiction in terms?

As to why Miss Piggy would marginalize Looney Lou, remember that NOM is trying to walk a very fine line stirring up hatred and resentment for LGBT's while maintaining a facade of compassion and victimhood. A line that is becoming thinner and thinner each day.

He's like all NOMers. He can't stand criticism and wants to be in a world where no one will disagree with him. He wants to preach his biased beliefs and everyone who can read it can sing "hallelujah!" instead a majority of people who know the truth saying "You liah!" :-D
