His voice rings clear, but that accent makes him sound like he has a mouthful of marbles.

Ah, who cares?! He sounds sweet, either way. Loved the crowd of adoring relatives in the wings.

Hee hee Richard, :0P
I wasn't thinking of him for myself, but a young friend of mine that lives in NYC, Joe is HIS type. My friend is an all grown up young man I mentored since he was 14.

And Adrian, I'm with you there, but this guy beats the hell out of that Justin Bieber person.

WTF?!
He is to make one's ears bleed nails.

I was cruising YouTube for opera singers, and there are several of Bieber's age who just KILL when it comes to musicality and vocal ability, even though they are all at the age where the voice changes drastically.
Joe McElderry isn't the most sophisticated tenor yet, but I hope the songs he sings get better and have more depth to test his range.

I'm not so sure how I feel about child POP stars and how they are chewed up in the public and whatever mogul represents them.
The classical music world seems so much more disciplined and protective than pop culture ever could be to it's youngest talents.

He is rather good looking, with a really sweet Geordie accent.

His honesty does come after several denials of accusations of being gay, despite the fact that he set off just about everybody's gaydar.
