I suspect some are starting to realize that the squeaky wheel is going to squeak no matter how much grease it gets. And they are starting to look down the road to what they’ll be squeaking about next and getting a tad nervous.

True conservatism supports gay rights because real conservatism is about personal responsibility, personal liberty, Constitutional equality & small government that stays out of our lives. Sadly, over the years the conservative movement has bent to the will of loud-mouthed social conservatives that just want to be in everyone’s business & run everyone’s lives.

The squeaky wheel of religious conservatives has gotten the grease for a long time but a lot of people that consider themselves to be real conservatives & don’t think they or the government have any business telling people how to live their own lives are tired of listening to the squeaking.

I think you would be surprised by how many people that are conservative do actually support gay rights. It’s just that it’s hard to hear them over the bigotted hysterics of the religious nut cases.

I would love to see Coulter respond and tear into LaBarbera. It doesn’t take much for LaBarbera get his panties in a bunch.

It’s one of those hilarious unintended consequences of a political party driven entirely by its pundits. The minute that holding to their (bigoted) principles becomes unprofitable, the entire anti-gay wing of the party gets dropped faster than human rights in Uganda.

All well and good, I suppose in this instance, however, I don’t really believe GOProud truly “represents” the gay community. After examining the websites of GOProud ( http://www.goproud.org ) and that of Log Cabin Republicans ( http://online.logcabin.org/about/ ), I felt as if GOProuders were Political Republicans who, “psst, happened to be glbt-ers.” Log Cabin Republicans, on the other hand, appeared to be proud to be both GLBT and Republican. Three cheers to the LCRs.

I’m totally with you. GOProud isn’t at all my political cup of tea, but if it erks LeBarbera… ;) well, I SUPPOSE I can stand them. xD

Come to think of it, while Coulter has sinned against this community, it is very good for us to have conservative icons like her supporting us…
