Herman said "Way down on the list, in the single digits, was protecting traditional marriage".

Now why would you go using their dishonest rhetoric? No one is attacking traditional marriage, no one is trying to revoke the right of opposite sex couples to marry, there is nothing to "protect". Their goal has nothing to do with "protecting traditional marriage", its entirely about banning same sex marriages - that's the honest name for what they're doing, banning same sex marriage.

"But unlike Taking America Back, most of these have social grace and appearance of sanity."

I respectfully disagree. Having attended the VVS as an observer, I found most of their rhetoric completely out of touch with reality. The sheer insanity of their views was the most jarring thing about the summit.

"Although only one of the five plenary discussions focuses solely on gay issues, it is without question that much of the other sessions will also be dedicated to “opposing the homosexual agenda”. That is, after all, the number one complaint that social conservatives have with the schools and Hollywood."

Wrong. The straw poll in the 2009 VVS asked participants what their top issue was. Abortion was overwhelmingly ranked number one. Way down on the list, in the single digits, was protecting traditional marriage. Other gay issues didn't even make the list. FRC does what it wants, in complete contempt for the values voters it polls.
