Translation.....

We don't want to offend the homophobic troops we have by having some fa*got fight next to them.

By the way, today is my partner and I's 5th anniversary and he is a former MARINE who fought in the first Gulf War. And your right Matt, he does make a good bottom.

He's just mad because Marines are all a bunch of bottoms--and I am only half-joking. When I lived in DC, a roommate of a friend literally had a different Quantico Marine in the sack every weekend.

He knows it and he's just pissed that HIS boys are not the ones in charge.

Obama did not have to nominate this guy and can relieve any other military chief for opposing his policy goals for the military. The problem is not the generals. The problem is the Commander in Chief.

The Army is also posturing itself to oppose DADT repeal. Even if the Senate voted today to support the possible repeal, the separate military services are lining themselves up to oppose repeal until at least after the wars have finished. The proposed legislation would require certification by the DoD that repeal could be implemented effectively. Regardless of the facts, the service chiefs are going to argue that repeal will disrupt military operations and therefore cannot be implemented during a time of war. The conservative, Christian leadership of the Armed Forces cannot stomach equality and as they always say, 'The military defends a democracy but does not practice democracy.'

"...the potential disruption of cohesion..."

A hypothetical, in other words, is his reason to take this position.

Recall Judge Walker highlighting Proponents use of the words "...a cloud of uncertainty..." to frame their reason for upholding Prop 8.

So, **something MIGHT happen** is the argument du jour.

Same thing here.

he also said "it's not a racism issue, but an anxious issue".

He's not very eloquent at least, to have the stupid notion that discrimination is confined to race. Or the notion that discomfort is a justification.

As far as I know, possible and likely death is uncomfortable, too, but that's not stopping soldiers from serving.
