After hearing his voice for a few seconds, I had no doubt he was a closet case.

He also seems like he has some serious psychological issues beyond that.

I can see him being hired by some conservative organization which isn’t particularly focused on anti-LGBT politics or even the “social issues” in general. He has the totally dishonest, rabid, attack dog mentality and methodology of the modern Republican conservative movement.

My impressions:
1. Shirvell is gay.
2. He has a really bad case of self loathing.
3. As such it feels good to lash out against gays.
4. He has some twisted crush (?) on Armstrong.
5. He is cut from the same cloth as Ted Haggard, “Bishop Long”, and all the other self loathing gay-anti gay homophobes

Does anyone know about his personal life? That might be interesting.

After Shirvell loses his job in January, he might want to follow in the Godly footsteps of Thomas Monaghan, and open his own pizzeria – in New York City. He could become known as the Pizza Nazi shouting to suspected homos, “No pizza for you!!!”

But seriously, I bet he will receive a flood of job-offers from many of the infamous Christ-centered gaybashing outfits. After Matt Barber was fired by Allstate Insurance, I remember how he slid right into a new job as a Concerned Woman with CWFA.

It’s tempting to think that Shirvell’s antics have disqualified him for any job other than possibly a migrant farm worker, but we must remember that insanity and depravity are highly coveted qualifications for a job with those nutbag outfits.

All I can say is, “Oh, my God, unbelievable.” This guy, Assistant Attorney General Andrew Shirvell is definitely on his way out of public service. I am a gay man and I’m telling you anyone with such a fixation on a handsome young gay activist is dealing with his own sexual issues. For 16 years, I lived a celibate lifestyle trying to be straight even though I and my family knew I was gay. I was never so blatant in my protests as Andrew Shirvell, but I did participate in writing and speaking out against homosexual rights and attempted to thwart the advancement of respect for, and acceptance of, gays and lesbians. There’s a saying that “when you throw a rock into a pack of dogs the one you hit is the one who yelps the loudest.” I swear this guy, Andrew Shirvell, is yelping loudly and clearly. And finally, with the risk of perpetuating a stereotype, Andrew Shirvell sounds “so gay.” I thank God, and I truly mean I thank God, that the young people in this country are considering this a non-issue. Bravo to this generation!

I totally got the gay vibe…and creepy of course. I actually checked out comments just to see how many it took to mention the closeted w/obsessive crush theory (7).

You know, those ex-gay folks are always “reaching out” to “help” people. I think it’s about time someone starts reaching out to the rabid, anti-gay politicians. Perhaps Roy Ashburn could represent. Come out and lose the hate. It will free you beyond all reckoning.

Not really getting the “gay” vibe–just the “creepy” vibe. AC’s listings of his obsession is pretty damning.

The fact that this guy believes that a student body president is a “politician” and that what he has been saying is “just part of political campaigns” (which of course is OVER anyway, since the guy won the job), tells me that he lacks the judgment to be employed in MOST places.

Definitely has the makings of a Peter LaBarbera Junior. Too bad he’s not hunky enough to attract Porno Pete (unless maybe he has a leather harness tucked away somewhere). Some day in the future I can’t wait to see the two of them attending Folsom Street (for research only, of course). LOL
