I find it far too close-minded to assume he won't keep his promise. That may be true, but a wait and see attitude is the right approach to take.

I'm with Ellen; I believe people can change. I've seen it.

I wrote and told him that I had not been on his site for more than a year, but that I was back and would stay and even tell advertisers if he stuck with the pledge.

How about a STRAIGHT bully and public figure doing something like this?
I'm sick of people like Carl Paladino ( a man with questionable family values himself), says what he really thinks, and he looks like the bigoted boor he really is.
As do everyone in the room who applauded and cheered his statements.

Now that he's been revealed, he's trying to un ring his bell.
He may not win the election, but he's maneuvering into a position where he could really hurt gay people.
So many members of the GOP are getting in bed with religious conservatives.

They are using political action (against the law) in support of specific candidates, tells you how much they are getting away with.
As long as THEY get to a position to bully gay people all over again through support of legislation that does so.

Even religious communities that are presumably conservative, will get in bed with any reprobate as long as they are anti gay.
And their entire agenda is virtually so.

But then turn around and admonish the gay community as being selfish because there are 'more pressing issues' than gay equality.

Hilton taking advantage of a media story and tragic deaths to advance his own name. This is a surprise to anyone? He has done more to damage gay rights than most wingnuts out there

@Cory-
Try here or here for the Ellen segment.
Hilton's Youtube video (same basic message, less makeup) can be viewed here.

Personally I think his new approach is long overdue, unfortunately I also have my doubts that he has much to offer beyond what's he been doing. I'll be pleasantly surprised if I'm wrong.

Sorry... I think this is pure BS and I doubt it will last. This is his bread and butter, so unless he has something lucrative lined up, he'll go back to doing what he does best within a few months.

Kinda silly, too. You don't see celebrities killing themselves too often.
