That “thorough and complete study” was done by the Navy in 1957. It’s called the Crittenden Report; perhaps McCain should read it.

I think that bringing back the physical filibuster (getting up and talking to death a bill) will have to be brought back in order to allow our political system to function again. This filibustering from the comfort of your bed is just plain criminal.

The “study” which will influence not one single vote, won’t be complete until the new Congress is sworn in, and Republicans won’t ever vote for repeal. So, it’s done. There will be no repeal at least until 2012, and only then if Obama is reelected and the Dems get huge majorities in both Houses again, which is pretty unlikely. Realistically, we’re looking at repeal around 2016 or 2020.

At the very least, if they’re going to filibuster, the Democratic Senate leadership should make them ACTUALLY take to the Senate floor to speak, not just accept a threat. Make them stand there and talk; they’ll soon give up and the vote can go forward.

McBush is only parroting the views of ALL the other REPUBLICANS in the US Senate. That said, with our “fierce advocate” in the White House does any of this matter? Obama has shown without a doubt that he will do NOTHING of substance for the gay community. Thanks, in large part, for the continued cover that HRC has provided him to do NOTHING.
