		<description>Alberta was dead last among the provinces in updating their marriage act, and more than two years behind Ontario, the first province to amend. And along with British Columbia were the only two provinces to enact eugenics laws, which remained on the books until the 1970&#039;s, something that still shames me as a Canadian. 

Reading that on some level Alberta considered my life to be a mental disorder does not surprise me one bit. I wonder how many gay people were subjected to forced sterilization?</description>
