Consider: what evidence is there that these birds died because of DADT repeal? Answer: None. Which rhymes with Nunn. Who made DADT happen in the first place. How can this possibly be a “coincidence”?

She’s a Pentecostal, in that particular branch of Christianity the line between “Preacher” and “Scam Artist” can be very, very fine indeed.

I could, but I’d be lying, there are people (though they’re often a bit unhinged themselves) who take her seriously.

That’s not an uncommon reaction among those who are unfamiliar with the Pentecostal subculture, unfortunately, I used to be married to a woman who actually considered Cindy Jacobs to be a “Prophet.” Yes, my ex wife does have a diagnosed mental disorder. I’m not sure about Cindy Jacobs, though.

The bad news is, people actually DO believe this crap.

The good news is most people think “Where the hell do they come up with this crap?”

If you believe God can and does communicate to man through nature, then you look for signs of His communication everywhere. You’d think the omnipotent omniscient God that Piper believes in could be a bit clearer in his messages.
If I had seem chasms openings up in the earth and devouring all those wrong-minded Lutherans, or a swarm of snakes to poison all those who didn’t hate gays, or a bear descending from a mountain to maul and destroy those who deserved it… in short, if I had seen some good ol’ fashion Old Testament Judgment, then I’d think twice about my views about allowing gays to openly serve on the front lines of the military and clergy.

At no time do I believe that any of the tea party leaders actually really have the best intentions at heart for their nation, not with the dirty tricks and negative politics they use. It’s all a power game to them. They are no less con artists than any glitzy televangelist and just as corrupt. They pander to the fears, prejudices and resentments of perhaps less savvy people, who hang on their every word. They’re turning into America’s Taliban.

I’m not convinced that they even believe much of what they say to the rank and file in their movement. It’s all about maintaining control of their base. We discount and underestimate Palin, Jacobs and all the rest of them them at the risk of our own doom.

But come on, she’s contending that their “loving” god is taking out his wrath on birds? Why not mosquitoes? And what’s with those anal beads around her neck?

But then again, 9/11, Katrina, and the Asian tsunami all happened after the 2000 and 2004 elections where the republicans won. I wonder if God punished us for those elections?

Um, no. It’s not merely a little no-no in Romans 1. “Not allowed” is more what you tell the children not to do when the baby is sleeping.

Romans 1:32 is the death sentence, So don’t try and butter it up like you’re scolding a child for cutting the lunch room line. I realize the verse is about idolatry but it’s being used far and wide to justify the literal death of gays by biblical authority.
