I understand the anger and frustration expressed above, BUT every positive step (and you don’t really think of this as a negative step, do you?) builds momentum. Eventually, constant forward pressure will burst the dam.

If her support is to be anything other than yet another instance of “lip service,” she’ll publicly change her Republican party registration.
The Republican platform remains opposed to LGBT equality and the party continues to exploit “fear the queer” for fund-raising.
Nice as Laura Bush, Barbara Bush, and Meaghan McCain’s statements are, they continue to choose to remain “part of the problem” with the specious notion that the glacially-slow “change the party from within” strategy will achieve anything within the next 15 years.

My feeling is that some support is better than no support. Sure, she will probably tow the Republican line on many other issues, but at least she is dissenting on this one point which is helpful for our cause. Her viewpoint will cause cracks in the Republican foundation. I suspect that many young Republicans are not as opposed to gay marriage as are the old cronies that run the party. If the Republican party is to succeed in the future it really needs to pick its battles carefully. I don’t think that waging a war on gay marriage is going to attract newcomers to the party especially when there are more relevant and important issues to address.

You may be right customartist, on the other hand, perhaps her role will be like that of the log cabin republicans. People thought they were useless and sleeping with the enemy, but their “change from within” philosophy did result in the very useful court challenge to Don’t ask Don’t tell.

Where was her voice, and the other so called “Good Republicans” whilst her Father rallied so heavily against Equality, and making his living on the backs of Gay American Taxpayers?

Where, I ask you, are the “Good Republican Legislators”??? They are Inexistent! – The same place that they will find my Vote!

Do not be fooled by Republican-Affilliates, who cannot legislate for Equality, but who Do Vote for those who legislate against Equality virtually Categorically.

Miss Bush Will Surely Vote for the next Republican candidate for President, so her words are completely worthless! Too little, too late!
