I think that is their problem, they realize that much of the change we have <b>effected</b> is real – permanent.

Loved that Bradlee Dean interjected "by force" into Jackson's statement and then stated their own use of force was only spiritual at the end. Just how the hell are we forcing anyone. We're fighting on the level of ideas, same as them. It's the only way that matters, that produces real change. I think that is their problem, they realize that much of the change we have effect is real - permanent.

Just as those who say gay is a choice, it really reveals a lot when you say gay acceptance will cause everyone to be confused about male/female roles in male/females relationships. There will always be heterosexuals wanting to commit to one another and procreate. Duh. What his statement says to me, is he understands how people can get confused, because he has been tempted by his own gay tendencies, and if it weren't for those "values" he was taught, he would act out on his said tendencies. There is a level of anger within these people. They cannot accept themselves, and therefore no one else is allowed to accept themselves either.

What is so disturning about his statements is that if you change the words "gay" and "homosexual" to "negro" or "inter-racial" this African-American preacher would sound exactly like so many white preachers/politicians from the South that railed against inter racial marriage & how it would "contaminate" the white race, and the ones that claimed that if "uppity negroes" weren't taught to keep their place it would destroy America by allowing them to take over.

It's disgusting, really and sad that someone that comes from a group that had to struggle so hard just to be recognized as equal to whites could treat other marginalized groups with the same contempt and hatred with which his parents and grandparents were treated. He should be ashamed of himself!

I saw that line as well, and it just amazed me.

forced? When did I put my little jackboot up upon his neck?

I am starting to lose what little compassion I have had for the homobigots. There is a sick, unclean, festering illness here

<i>"I’m an African-American...
... and we have a minority group, in a sense, that has decided that they are going to impose their will on the culture and…"</i>

Has he no sense of history at all? It's one thing to oppose equality for gay people, but to note that as an African American you oppose a minority "imposing its will" on the culture is bizarre.

I've been reading about the recent murders of children by their mothers. Several were about single mothers raising autistic children. Another shot her teens because she thought them 'too mouthy and rebellious', one withheld her autistic son's medications for his treatable cancer, that eventually killed him.
And one mother, killed three of her four children after an argument with their father. That argument was precipitated by his adultery.
Indeed, sometimes the ultimate act of murder/suicide IS precipitated by divorce, adultery, addiction, loss of income or other financial disaster. And all of these usually include some kind of domestic violence.

Law enforcement statistics can sometimes account for domestic violence calls, cross referenced with previous calls, and arrests within families and whether or not children were taken from the home.

Obviously men and women are spreading their seed all over the place. The issue is not now, nor really ever been a concern for the ENTIRE of the human race, but increasing one's own tribe. Priority is given mostly to one's clan, then religious tribe.
Hence you get the feuds we witness all the time. Murderous feuds.
Jackson is only expressing a whitewashed example of the kind of stigma and prejudice associated with seeing those who don't participate in his tribe's advancement have to be 'the enemy'.
It doesn't take any active work to eliminate them or overtake them, even living in peace alongside is considered an affront.
And guys like him can work themselves into such a snit of expecting their perceived enemy to be eliminated.
Which is gay folk and their supporters.
No sharing in the freedoms and rights with his enemy.
No sir.
That would mean a reality check for Jackson.

We can see little wholesale END to humanity. There are plenty of people. Indeed it could be argued too many. But even back in the days of shorter life spans, difficulty in childbearing and less medical intervention for life threatening diseases and defects...people still warred on each other and killed each other in greater numbers than they do now.

This isn't about any 'natural order' whatsoever. It's not now, nor ever been natural to be so hostile and distrustful of gay people. Any more than it is to be towards women. But that's what really goes on. Female life is extremely cheap. Gay and trans life even cheaper.
And controlling both has been the driving force in most of mankind's societies.
Love has nothing to do with it. Indeed, do any of you sense less and less of it?
So few of us or any particular culture is all that exotic to us.
We have so much greater awareness of what people are doing wherever they are.
Even if it's more of the same awful, barbaric and primitive behaviors our culture has rejected, we still KNOW about it.

Jackson is ridiculous. He wouldn't fool better minds, nor better angels.
He's full of sound and fury...signifying nothing. And doesn't know when to exit the stage, he just fortifies his bluster.

And, my friends, people like him NEVER say anything different, revelatory or ingenious. There is NO JOY in him, no amount of peace. He's all FEAR all the TIME.
He and his ilk like to say we're all gonna die, beware the gay!

But some people live in gang plagued neighborhoods where they don't know where their next paycheck is coming from.
And although obvious that nobody gay forms these gangs or does jobs they stole from someone else, Jackson is telling the folks that 'the gays' are the priority PROBLEM.

He's not even being braced with HOW.
It's pathetic when desperate families are in such crisis that children are murdered by their own parents, but he takes NO TIME from his busy pursuit of 'the gays' to intervene or avert the issues that create gangs, displaced women and children, and adulterous men and women, and fathers who have abandoned everything.

They've romanticized and gotten nostalgic all over again, for something that never really existed.
And they want gay people to pay the price for that non reality and they actually have nothing of their own to show for it.

He is of a tribe that doesn't have the grace to shut up. Not because your 'enemy' is trying to silence you. But because it WOULD be graceful to know when you're full of dangerous rhetoric that's not helping or serving ANYONE for any good reason.

Jackson seems to want to outdo the infamous Father Coughlin of the 1930's in the vehemence of his rants...urging hatred, bigotry, violence, lies in the name of Jesus Christ.

Perhaps if he spent what appears to be too much time on his hands trying to salvage the ruins of Black Family Values ("a whole generation of people are so confused that they don’t even remember the role of a mother and a father."), he might accomplish something worthwhile in his live.
