Roughly 10,000 people actually attended meetings and voted for this change in ordination standards. Another 6,000 voted the other way.  None of them voted to install Mr. Donohue on his peculiarly remunerative perch.  They also did not fund that position.</description>

There are quarrels over apostolic succession as well. It could either fascinate you or bore you. And it might give you a better understanding of what we wound up with in the USA. 4th century can also be interesting.</description>
