This is nuts! Using Ms. Green’s logic, then the bank ought to fly a: “black” flag during Black History month every February; a Puerto Rican flag during PR heritage month; a Mexican flag on Cinco de Mayo; an Italian flag on Columbus Day, etc. How about a leather pride flag too? Or the bear pride flag? Ms. Green needs to take a look at the meaning of E Pluribus Unum–from many, ONE. Sorry, Ms. Green, but all the above mentioned flags are subsumed under one flag–the American flag! This kind of thinking further balkanizes this country into little politically correct fiefdoms.

I live in Richmond. Seeing this made me giggle, which I almost never do, so it’s a Good Thing in my view. Virginia’s weird– for every time it elects someone like Cucinelli, something like this comes along. Very much a state of two minds.

Who’s a redneck, smartass? I’m from NJ, currently living in Philly, and a Liberal lesbian, aka, about as far from redneck as it gets. The Federal Reserve are still a bunch of evil %&*$’s. I don’t care what flag they fly. I too would love to be completely oblivious to the nature of the Federal Reserve, then this supposed anger I have would not come out.

My initial reaction was to be upset that a government agency took such a clear stand on a partisan issue, even one I support. Reading the full article reminded me that the Reserve Banks are private institutions, despite their close connection to the government. This leaves me free to enjoy the view of the winds of change fluttering both flags. (Posted mostly for the benefit of any other fools who forget that Reserve Banks are private.)
