I guess that I can cross Bachman off my list of candidates. Pawlenty said something to the effect that people are not born gay………….I just shock my head. No we don’t know, yet. And, we may never know. What we do know is that reparative therapy is a destructive practice.

Politicians, right and left, have the very nasty habit of ignoring whatever question is asked and just spouting their talking points.

If they go off book, they run into the problem of accidentally saying something that hasn’t been polled and polled and polled to figure out how best to manipulate people into voting for them.

In the worst case scenario they might accidentally say something that is true. Such as Newt Gingrich learned when he “accidentally” called Paul Ryan’s budget plan exactly what it was, “radical” and “right-wing social engineering.”

Politicians, right and left, have the very nasty habit of ignoring whatever question is asked and just spouting their talking points. It’s so rude and offputting that I wonder why they do it. I guess polls show that this is the way to “get your message across” and not be distracted, but in my opinion, it makes them look like idiots.

I recall the first time I met a politician who didn’t speak like a politician. When Dick Reardon was mayor of Los Angeles, the man couldn’t deliver a public speech to save his life. But because he always seemed to be answering honestly, you found yourself actually listening.

Technically speaking she’s right. In addition to creating jobs in the ex-gay “treatment” centres, they’re creating jobs in mental health teams, drug addiction treament centres and other agencies dealing with the fallout. They’re also freeing up jobs through increased suicide rates.
