I’d say the same reason Odonnel is avoiding such questions, neither thinks such anti-gay bigotry is going to help them more than it hurts them.

As much as people have been arguing to the contrary, I still don’t believe that extreme anti-gay views are a losing political proposition in America yet. At best being anti-gay or pro-gay has become, for the most part, irrelevant to the electorate; which in and of itself is a huge step forward for a country where anti-gay was always a winning strategy and the more anti-gay the more effective.

Perhaps being pro-gay is helpful in a few small pockets of the country but not as many pockets as where being anti-gay is helpful.

I’m a bit annoyed with all the claims that we have suddenly arrived in a post-gay world where being anti-gay in unacceptable and a sure fire killer of a political campaign. Anyone who believes that is living in a fantasy world.

I do believe that we are quickly moving toward that day but it’s still a few years off.

Looks like it’s far past time for the media to begin asking both Perry and Bachmann, who have associated themselves with anti-American Dominionists, whether they actually support the Constitution and believe the First Amendment applies to those who don’t share their perversion of religion.

Perhaps more to the point, what is this nut doing anywhere near a Presidential cantidate? There was a time when the Republicans didn’t WANT these kind of people. It’s enough to make the ghost of Barry Goldwater ask “what the hell is wrong with you?!?!?!?!”
