government offered him a package church couldn’t match, he couldn’t resist, broke the rules and ignored the whistles… rode the wave regardless… surely that alone makes his ethics and integrity questionable, a little bit? *sigh* i wish that ministry didn’t exist.

Actually once you are a priest, you are always a priest. Defrocking means you no longer have official permission to perform priestly duties or perform the sacraments.
