Oh yeah…”horrendously abusive”. I kept waiting for the abusive part. And then I realized that your idea of abusive is formed by the fact that you’re hypersensitive bitches and this is just your latest excuse to engage in some Christian bashing.

I’ve undergone more abusive situations in forced “diversity” training (ie., reeducation camps). Come to think of it, those “diversity” training sessions are promoted by…homosexuals like you?

It is sad that I actually laughed when reading the LIA Program Rules, sad because this is such a dangerous and damaging program that is misguidedly using faith principles as overarching moral guidance and strictures.

The hygiene rules? Some of them are truly WTF? And as an Australian, the notion that you wear socks WITH sandals marks you out for derision right there.

@ David: I’ve thought about it, yes. But I’d have to prove psychological harm, and my symptoms were too subtle. I was suicidal, but I didn’t have the financial ability to go to a psychologist and have my depression diagnosed, or whatever the source was of my other symptoms. Without a professional witness from that time in my life it would be difficult. Happily, I have recovered from all that pretty much now.

Wow. I thought I had a good idea about what went on at LIA, but I never heard about the personal inventory reading. What possible therapeutic benefit could come out of that? I thought the whole point of LIA’s message is that your “homosexual sin” is not your identity and that you can leave it behind b/c the blood of Christ can wash away all sin. So by forcing clients to rehash explicit sexual conduct or fantasies from years past and expose them to their support network, they are strengthening the identity b/t the client and the “homosexual sin.”

As a “graduate” of the LIA residential program I am thrilled to hear this news. They damaged me in ways that took years to recover from and I would not at all be surprised to find if at least one if not two of the people who attended with me are dead from suicide. They took on clients with disorders that needed serious psychiatric treatment and gave brainwashed them to hate themselves. I thank God that this place is coming to its end and I pray He hurries it on. Amen.
