Imagine if these people had to get real jobs. They'd starve. Are they qualified to so much as mop floors?

OIC...they are engaging a legal scholar so now that will make them be all fancy legit and shit, right?

BB himself doesn't have too many brain cells to rub together, and MG...well, she's smarter, but not someone who can really argue LEGALLY, as much as she does HISTORICALLY...however much she gets THAT wrong.

Well, we've got Olsen and Boise, and as far as civil rights veterans who were in the trenches, we've got Rep. John Lewis and several others like them who support equality.
NOM's record of spokespersons isn't as attractive in the sense of their debate style or essential charisma.

We can see their strategy for this appointment from a mile away.
And perhaps they'll never catch up...from a mile away.

As a student of one of the Claremont Colleges, I feel compelled to point out that the Claremont Institute is not affiliated with Claremont Graduate University or Claremont McKenna College or even the Claremont School of Theology. So if this is the first time you've heard the word "Claremont", please don't think it's full of nutjobs.

You may recall that Eastman is the guy that NOM supported for CA Attorney General in 2010. Eastman received 34.5% of the Primary vote, losing the Republican nomination.

In September 2010 (having just lost his bid to represent the party), he submitted an amicus brief for the group trying to convince the CA Supreme Court that they should be allowed to appeal the decision of Perry v. Schwarzenegger, as the real defendants (the State) had no intention of doing so.

It is not biased, I believe, to categorize his brief as being more of a political tract than a legal argument. He should feel right at home.

Harry Jaffa, the founder of the Claremont Institute, is a passionate anti-gay ideologue. He infamously claimed that tolerance of homosexuality is comparable to tolerance of slavery.

Key to his argument is this bizarre assertion: "Slavery is against nature, because it treats human beings like subhuman chattel. Sodomy is against nature, since it treats men as if they were women."
http://claremont.org/publications/pubid.694/pub_detail.asp

Jaffa also wrote an article, published by the Claremont Institute, in which he insists that a person who refuses to condemn homosexuality has no principled basis for condemning the actions of serial murderer and rapist Ted Bundy:
