Hey Jim, don't print my comment. I wasn't trying to be disrespectful, but I had in mind the music being played when Bachman was on Fallon's show that caused such a kerfuffle.
I've been SO cranky lately!

Michele, there was no Federal Dept Education when you were growing up? Well, it shows!

David in Houston, I generally agree with you that the last thing the anti-LGBT crowd wants is for gays to marry straights, but in Michele's case, I wonder. Perhaps she genuinely believes its a working solution...some sort of noble sacrifice of daughters or something.

She's right. It's a bit like in Saudi Arabia, where Muslims and Christians have equal rights. Christians are just as free to worship publicly, as long as they worship Allah. Who can complain?

As always, look at the subtext.

What Bachmann is really saying is that Marriage ITSELF is the goal, not sharing and building a life and family with the one you love.

Talk about changing the defintion of marriage?

If laws don't change, Michelle would be in the kitchen making sandwiches, yet she could not grasp the very idea that allowed her to run for president.

”This is the sound of a thousand heads hitting a thousand desks.”

Oh, so that's what that noise was. I've been wondering if we had an earthquake, or something...

Michele's comments really are not anything new. I've heard others say the same thing for years. Specifically, I heard Michael Medved say it repeatedly on his radio show several years ago. He said it as though he was revealing his great insight into how gays really have always had marriage equality.

It's such a preposterously stupid comment, does anyone really need to refute it? No one believes for a second that she actually wants straight people to marry gay people (excluding her own marriage, of course). It's just her way of trying to rationalize her own bigotry.

Yes, Michele, laws NEVER change in our country. Blacks are still slaves, women can't vote, and marriage equality isn't legal in 6 states and 10 countries. Just when you thought politicians couldn't get any dumber, Michele is there to prove us wrong.
