I visit with my lesbian friends, we have coffee together out in restaurants. I hug them, sometimes we're walking along, arm in arm. I give them a kiss on the cheek in greeting or saying goodbye.

I help them with flyers, organizing, or walking their dogs.

Sometimes I'm mistaken for a lesbian because of my associations. I don't care, with my gay friends it's just a bit of an error, to a homophobe they like to think they are insulting me if they say I'm a lesbian in public.

In Nigeria or Uganda, I might be arrested or beaten or jailed with my friends.
I've thought about it, folks. I really have. There isn't anything here in America that would protect me and my girlfriends from being assaulted or shot in the street.
Or smeared by libel and slander.

But I thought about it. I thought about the non blacks, Jews, the ministers, rabbis and good hearted white people willing to be beaten, jailed, who were shot at, bombed and menaced for standing up to white supremacist terrorists.
I thought about it.
I decided that my gay friends are far better people to be with, than the self righteous who would make such laws against my friends.
I have wondered if I was the one worthy of the love of my friends, to risk my safety and freedom for them.
I thought about it.
And got my answer because of the cowardice, and intractable ignorance and arrogance of our opposition.
The Alliance Defense Fund is full of cowards, whiners, and pussies.
They are uncivil and selfish. They hide behind the very Constitution they are trying to exclude our brethren from.
And yet, believe that God would be on the side of that kind of act against another human being and their humanity.

  I sure thought about it.
I cannot live without my gay friends. I just couldn't.
I don't want to have the freedoms that I do, and not share them.
Especially knowing the sacrifices made for me to have them.
I thought about it, and just couldn't.

Tim, EXACTLY. This bill denies anyone freedom of RELIGION. It throws anyone, gay or straight, into prison for 14 years for attending a same sex marriage ceremony in their church. There is a Gay affirming church in Nigeria. This bill will make the private practice of their religion illegal.

It proves they can't win an argument on Gay rights, so the seek to throw us all in Kiri Kiri Jailcamp in Nigeria to prevent us from speaking, assembling, advocating, and arguing our viewpoint.

Make them OWN their cheerleading the denial of freedom of petition, protest, assembly, religion, association, expression, privacy, and speech.

Apparently, locking up all of a minority into jailcamps is a "cultural perspective".

And this is why the ADF is such a particularly vile group; aside from separating children from glbt parents.

I think officially supporting hate legislation like Nigeria's should fast track an organization for branding as a SPLC designated hate group.

I wonder how much "inspiration" counsel and drafting for this originated with our domestic hate groups?
