And henceforth BTB shall be know as the Chrysler Building Bulletin.

Kidding aside, there is a component of this that I don't thing is being addressed. As Christoper alluded, in the minds of our opponents, marriage is a one sided deal. "Some guy wanted to marry... " as though marriage is defined by what "some guy" wants.

A mind that conceptualizes a man marrying a car, is a mind that places no value at all on a woman's consent. Those of us who think that marriage doesn't exist without the equal consent of two people don't even fathom how such a think could come to be.

Ummmmm . . . well, back in 1965/66 there was a TV sitcom named
My Mother the Car. And back in those days people would reasonably assume that mom was married. Obviously, that show was way ahead of its time.

"...one guy had a desire to marry a building, another one a car, another one his dog..."

and if those were the only choices left, I'd take them over these nutballs in a HEARTBEAT.

Yes, if you allow gays to marry people will marry cars, buildings and dogs - just look at how that's happened in all the places that have allowed gays to marry.
