Kidding aside, there is a component of this that I don't thing is being addressed. As Christoper alluded, in the minds of our opponents, marriage is a one sided deal. "Some guy wanted to marry... " as though marriage is defined by what "some guy" wants. A mind that conceptualizes a man marrying a car, is a mind that places no value at all on a woman's consent. Those of us who think that marriage doesn't exist without the equal consent of two people don't even fathom how such a think could come to be.
