As much as I already hold many Repubs in low regard, I was still totally shocked by the language he used here. He could’ve just said he was against any foreign aid that doesn’t involve American national security and be done with it. We would know of course, that his real reason for objecting would be due to anti-gay animus, but he would at least have plausible deniability. But, no. He made it crystal clear that his reaction is based purely on hate. Granted, at this point he’s irrelevant, but I’ll be very interested to see how Romney and Gingrich react.

I don’t want to violate Godwin’s law but I believe it’s fitting to classify Perry’s statement as a fascist.

Clinton is not talking about gay marriage or even anti-discrimination laws for the most part. She’s talking about the right of gay people to NOT BE MURDERED. The religious rights feels that LGBT people being protected from violence is “objectionable and wrong”.

How is this different the Nazis talking about the traditional culture of the German volk and how it had to be “defended” from Jews?
