That they would complain about this shows just how evil they are. The United States is opposing the imprisonment and execution of gays and Sprigg and Barber are screaming that that’s the wrong thing to do.

As I tell my friends who think the Civil War was about States Rights…you still lost. Now it is time for the anti-sex movement to figure out they lost the Sexual Revolution a hundred years later and the world is not going back.

And God forbid the US should try to save lives.

I’ve had the pleasure of an online friendship with two young men from India. They immigrated here to the US, under asylum. One of them HAD been jailed in his native India for two years for being gay. He was still a teenager then. The term was harsh, his family were desperate to try to have him freed, but it’s a book unto itself his treatment while in prison. Anywhere from brain washing techniques (ex gay) to beatings and utterly isolation.

He came to the US over ten years ago, and established himself here in quite a community of educators and other literati.
Some of his experience reminded me a lot of what happened to young black males in the Jim Crow south, accused of sexual impropriety and abused in prison the same way.
I can hardly wait to meet my friend where he lives in NYC and talk about all these matters that concern us about criminalizing homosexuality.
He and his friends celebrated in NY when India DID decriminalize homosexuality a short time ago. And when marriage became legal in that state.

Someone like Barber or Sprigg don’t have a clue, nor the character of what it takes to be a gay person in such countries. Even less about being and advocate for SOCIAL JUSTICE.
Note they aren’t especially critical of how certain African and Near East countries treat women.

Notice also, that those American states that still have underage marriage on their books, STILL have them because NOM and LU and so on, aren’t trying to amend marriage laws LIKE THAT anywhere.

The President and the Sec. of State are doing a great thing.
As Tim mentioned, divestiture worked well against apartheid in South Africa, a nation that has marriage equality.

Sprigg and Barber don’t seem to understand who they are in company with. What historical figures they resemble and what philosophies they share with the worst of them.
I’d laugh if this shit weren’t so serious.

Barber also notes that the administration is apparently ignoring the fact that foreign nations — like the United States — are sovereign countries. He adds that the U.S. is “using essentially blackmail and the purse strings” of the nation to force countries to change their moral principles.

Worked well for Apartheid, but perhaps Barber was against that as well.
