I've been following the AFA since about 1996. When I first started watching them on the web they were bashing Ellen Degeneras then. They thought calling her Ellen Degenerate was really funny.

I'm still folowing them on the web. They are headquartered in my hometown. I gave them the title "Dark Side" of Tupelo, MS. I post articles on my blogs regularly titled "Spotlighting The Dark Side of Tupelo, MS" some of these are on the web.

The "Million Women" AFA uses is another of their big lies.

AFA says:

Funny that JC Penney thinks hiring an open homosexual spokesperson will help their business when most of their customers are traditional families.

Funny that AFA doesn't understand that the vast majority of gays come from traditional families. Then you have to count all the extended parts of those families. And then you have to count all traditional families of friends, coworkers, and other acquaintances of gay people. So the total number of traditional families who are related to, or know, gay people must be staggering. Of course, all this depends on gays being out of the closet.

AFA et al is fighting a war on two fronts: 1) keeping gays ashamed and self-loathing so they stay in the closet, and 2) keeping government, businesses, and other organizations from expressing any acceptance of gays. And they <del>are losing</del> have pretty much lost the battles on both fronts.

JC Penney has a grasp on reality. AFA has a grasp on fantasy.

Per Wikipedia, The show averages about 2.74 million viewers per episode, according to daytime television ratings, which makes it one of the highest-viewed daytime shows behind Live! with Kelly and Dr. Phil.

When you stop to think that the pool of folks who are fans of Ellen's but not watching daily has got to be a multiple of that, and that daytime TV shows don't succeed without appealing to at-home moms (& dads), it just makes sense that JCPenney knows what it is doing.

If anything, the AFA attention is likely to garner positive responses for JCPenney... Shop here, where we love Ellen, too!
