I think it’s a mistake to assume that the $10K is all that Romney gave contribution to support Prop 8. There were several other groups involved in that fight, with some of them taking much larger roles than NOM’s.

We only know he gave $10K to NOM. We have no idea whether he gave more through other channels. NOM was, at most, only a tangential part of the LDS church’s efforts to pass Prop 8.

Considering his wealth, that donation is almost an insult to the church’s effort. Take the amount coupled with the circuitous method and it’s clear that Romney knows that he’s on the losing end of that issue.

The way the LDS Church was shaking down LDS Members with money to support CA’s Prop 8, I find it REALLY hard to believe they only got $10,000 out of Romney.

Chances are there are more donations under his wife or his kids names, to protect Romney’s political ambitions (and the LDS Church’s public image).

Hardly worth the bad press was it, Mr. Romney? Your fellow Mormon Alan C. Ashton gave a million. You both are in about the same league.

Are we STILL fighting to find out who gave what to Prop 8? And was it through nefarious money-laundering schemes the Mormons gave to NOM or directly to Prop 8? Because, LDS Administrators were clear you couldn’t use your tithing as donations to the Prop 8. So, where/how did the money get to support Prop 8? A secret off-shore tax shelter?

If Mormons are so proud of their support of Prop 8 why aren’t they proud to show how much they gave?
