I don’t think I will ever be able to forget how, when I was 14, my dad reached across the dinner table and, out of the blue, hit me in the face, hard, because he “didn’t like the expression on my face.” That was 45 years ago. At least my dad sought some help after that.

I think that the only thing that will get through to fundies like this is if they personally have to pay a price. Unfortunately, that price may be their own children committing suicide.

He’s already issued his non-apology, now that the dog whistle is out there. What’s truly awful is he is apparently employed at some Baptist “academy” where he teaches 7th and 10th graders. Who knows what horrible message he’s sending those poor innocent kids, some of whom, no doubt, are gay? Google him and Berean Baptist Academy

I’m quick to defend these fools because they’re often misunderstood from our perspective, but this is beyond the pale. Beat your children into gender roles? I’m sure it got a laugh but I doubt he was joking.
