To Snowman:

I agree. Arrogance is the word of the day in reference to this guy.

I find it hard to believe that some people think they know the mind of their chosen deity. That to me is the epitome of arrogance.

Misogny is a close second -- note how he says that we are "shaking our fist at him". HIM, not her, not it.

Since they know "his" mind so well, perhaps they could share with humanity where and when their deity will be allowing the next big earthquake, tsunami, or whatever. Now, THAT would be helpful.

We don't have Chick-Fil-A's up here.

Thank God.

I cannot believe the arrogance of that man's comments. Does it even occur to him, and those like him, that a very large number of people are not Christians (and do not have any desire to be) for ethical reasons or because of other beliefs they hold, or that a lot of other Christians do not agree with them??

He does not speak for God, his opinion is his opinion, not a fact...period.

It is my experience that the character of an organization tends to be greatly influenced by its leaders. It's just as well they don't have those restaurants here...the service probably sucks. I sure wouldn't want to eat with people like that.

I have been a long-time customer of Chick-fil-A. I like their food, a once a week customer. That changed to once a month about six months ago as news of their financial support of anti-marriage equality events became known. The store I went to did not contribute to such events. Now, I will stop going completely.

The best way to complain is to tell your local CFA manager / franchisee, in writing, politely, that you will not be a customer any longer, and why. I am planning to do that.

I don't think they're in California. But I'm a vegetarian anyway. (I'll be eating more tofu. :) )

Dan Cathy needs to update Chick-Fil-A's advertising slogans for more appeal to the kind of customers he covets. Here's a few preliminary suggestions:

At all our Chick-Fil-As
we always Kick-The-Gays.

There's no need to eat more beef.
Our chicken tastes just like bull.

Yesterday I debated two gay men on Facebook as to whether gays should be eating at Chik-Fil-A and also discovered how extremely angry people get when told that buying food there might not be beneficial to gay people. Their response was that the food was so good, that they didn't care. And then one of the two basically told me he was going to rape me for disagreeing with him. And he was the Unitarian minister. I was rather stunned.

Is it just me, or is it the people accusing gays or a culture that accepts gays of being "arrogant" and "prideful" that seem to be well versed in those traits?

@Jess

It is my understanding that CFA employees go through training that includes religious tracts. (This might only pertain to "corporate" jobs--not to counter jobs at the local restaurants.)

I think it would be hard to not know about the religious bent at CFA. But in this economy, these people may have no other choice.

It took me a while to convince my partner that it wasn't worth the support no matter how much he (used to) love their milkshakes.
